Entering in the heart of the prophet Muhammad (PbuH)
This month you want to enter into the heart of the prophet (s). What is in his heart and on his mind? What is he concerned about? You. He (s) wants to see you revive his sunnah by action and by tongue.
There are certain thing that take root in his (s) heart and those things are on his mind and part of his thought processes.
A person who is silent by nature is usually a deep thinker and if they talk it is usually with wisdom. A person who speaks freely, usually speaks from the heart and what is in their heart is on there tongue.
What is required/requested of us during this month?
1 – Make much salawat ala nabi
2 – Sunnan Adaab, Akhlaq
Look into your life and analyze your life in terms to the sunnan, adaab and akhlaq of him (actions, manners, and character).
How do you let that root in your heart? First study them, research them learn them. Then put it into action. And then you teach it to others.
Learn
Act
Teach
If you are successful in putting one of those three things to life you have done good for yourself if you teach it to others then you help bring it to life for someone else. If you are successful in bringing life to the sunnah in someone else, it is like you brought life to the ummah, which is bringing life to the prophet (s)
So this month we need to research his sunnan. Tonight, do not go to sleep without reviving one of his actions manners or character. Look into it, think about it and put it into action at least, by tonight. After acting it out, make niyah to teach it to others even if it is by writing,
3 – Get rid of bad deeds
We are burdened with bad habits, sins or disobedience which goes against the prophet (s) or the very fabric of servant hood to Allah SWT. We know that we are not willing to face Allah with those bad habits. So in this month, it has a special divine maddad from Allah and is concentrated in this month, similarly to Ramadan. Shaytan can’t stand these holy months because he sees the diving light coming down to the ummah and he is at a loss during this month. You have extra help during this month.
We have now come to the 11th day of Rabi Awwal. It should be that we have gotten rid of 4 bad habits by this day. We are intending that by the end of this month that you would have done away with 30 bad habits. If you are suffering from doing a sin then follow it up with a good deed. It is in Quran that if you follow up bad with good deed then you have done good.
Finish rabbil awwal having left bad habits. Some people will look upon this month that it will not speed up my progress and there are those that will find the matter very difficult and those who don’t’ believe in doing anything of these. Be like the siddiqin and you will find the help coming from Allah SWT.
So we want to get rid of bad and then take up his (s) good by the end of this month.
Whoever didn’t from day one give up a bad habit and deed, catch up and make it up. Get rid of 4 bad habits that you perform, tonight for the sake of Allah SWT and the prophet (s). It is like you are making a hijrah from what He hates and making a pilgrimage to what is better, the prophet (s). The prophet (s) says an act of worship during the times of trials and tribulations is like a pilgrimage to me (S). No doubt we are living in difficult time. By acting out his, it is like you are making a pilgrimage towards him (s) even though you are sitting in your own home. Just by leaving bad traits and making hijrah towards his sunnan, adaab, akhlaq.
Leave your nafs, your lower self and your desires. For tonight, there is no sleep. All who love the prophet (s), it is incumbent on us that we don’t sleep. There is no time to sleep.
4 – Put this into action.
With your spouses, friends, work colleagues, neighbors, cooperate together, work together. All of medina was corrected by him (s) are we ready for this?
5 – Write it down, that this is for you Rasool (s).
Dedicate it to him. When you put into action that what pleases him (s) imagine that every part of you, you dedicate to making him happy. Even your phone, laptop, your car, use it and dedicate them as soldiers serving prophet (s). That way you live in an atmosphere in which all things are soldiers for him and dedicated to him (s). Write down all things that you intend to use for him and what ended up happening. So next to an intention, you can make a comment or tick mark that these things were fulfilled.
In this month. All trials endured with acts of worship or sunnah are migrations towards him (s). and know that in this dars, it is very easy to listen and take, but it takes strength and effort to live it out . But there will be help if you just put this intention into action.
6 – During this month try to dedicate most of your speech to be around Muhammad (s).
The words that come out of your mouth should be Muhammad (s) did this, he used to like this and do this. Tell your family and say he used to do this and like this. His name itself is a mercy and his siffaat are all mercy. So in your home speak a lot of him. The more you mention his name the more your home will be filled with rahma. On the day of judgment he will say, ummati ummati so if he says that we want to say Muhammad Muhammad (s)
7 – In your homes and family, read about the life of him (s).
It is enough to gather with your family and learn it together (trust that if you put these into action you will find blessings). Teach your family and have your children memorized the family of the prophet (s). When children memorized they do not forget and they carry it with them for the rest of the life. So much so that someone in your family can recite the entire family children. And dedicate this act to the prophet (s). How much time have we all wasted on things that don’t matter like searching for the useless things on the internet and twitter etc. We want to engage in the things that are beneficial for you Rasool (s).
Each morning as you go to work, recite the family tree of the prophet (s) and have your children do it before they go to school. So that while everyone else is bus with their dunya and rushing to work or school, you are sitting with your children for a few mins to plant a secret in their heart that no one will even understand.
Tonight you should memorize these 5 names : Muhammad (s) ibn ‘abdAllah ibn ‘abd Mutalib ibn Hashim ibn ‘Abdi Manaaf
This dhikr is rahma, shifa and noor and will keep your protected from the shayateen. and your protector is Muhammad (s). A boy came to the prophet who was possessed and the prophet said to him, get out because I am Muhammad (s) and the Shaytan left the boy’s body. Reciting the prophet’s (s) name, the shatyan can’t handle it.
8 – khidmah should be a starting point to help the ummah in three ways
Thoughts need to be in lined with the prophet which were for the ummah,
You need to want to help them in their time of need, and guide them to the deen. Think of ways to help the ummah with your wealth. Don’t let this month pass away without putting khdima for ummah. The three ways you can do this are:
a. Fikr, thought process (way to enter into khidma, a student asked what to study and he wanted to study medicine and Habib was what is your intention to study this, and the student said I want to benefit the Muslims and then the rest of the world )
b. Dua
c. Action or spending of your wealth
9 – Try that if and when you mention his (s) it is mentioned with love and yearning for him (s) and this will move something in your heart.
He was sent as a mercy to the world. Say : Roohi fidahu, or fidak ya Rasoolillah (S) ya Sayidina. This way you likened yourself to the sahaba who said “Bi abi wa bi ummi,” they would say, the lives and souls of my mother an father be sacrificed for you. How much love can you express but by saying you sacrifice your life and soul for him. May my outward die for you. You are the light of my heart ya sayidinna Muhammad
Just before you sleep express your love for the Muhammad. So that inshaAllah before you sleep his name is on your heart. So you dream of him!
